Looking to make your content more personal and engaging? Recording yourself directly via webcam lets you connect authentically with your audience—all without leaving your Animoto workspace.

Seeing your face builds trust and connection with viewers.
Record straight into your Animoto project with no additional software.
Once recorded, your webcam clip is immediately ready for trimming if needed.
At the top of your project workspace, hit Record and choose Camera from the menu.
Position your camera at eye level—this gives your video a more natural, professional appearance.
If prompted, authorize Animoto to use your webcam and microphone. If no prompt appears, adjust your browser’s site permissions manually.
Test your microphone and lighting before recording—clear audio and even lighting make a huge difference.
Click the red Record icon to begin recording yourself.
Speak clearly and pause between sentences to make trimming easier later.
Click the red recording icon again to stop. Your video is automatically added to your project’s Media Library.
Aim for concise recordings under 5 minutes—Animoto lets you go up to 30 minutes, but shorter clips are more engaging.
Face a window or use soft lighting so your face is clearly visible.
Choose a clean, distraction-free space to keep the focus on you.
Maintain eye contact with the lens to feel more natural and engaging.
Do a quick sound check to make sure your microphone is clear and balanced.
Plan your key points ahead of time and aim for shorter takes.
Speak naturally and smile—authenticity connects best with viewers.
